Local gov't receives P7-M performance challenge fundSeptember 12, 2012

    ODIONGAN, Romblon, Sept 10 (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has turned over a Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) worth P7 million to the local government. 

    The check was given to Governor Eduardo C. Firmalo by DILG Mimaropa Regional Director Rolando B. Calabazaron at the Provincial Summit at Lyn’s Restaurant, Odiongan, Romblon. 

    The provincial government of Romblon received the seal of good housekeeping in 2011 during the second tranche of awarding the 1st to 3rd class municipalities and provinces. 
    After complying with the required documents of the PCF, the DILG released the check for the funding of proposed projects corresponding to the prize money of the bronze category award of the program. 
    In his message, DILG Mimaropa Regional Director Rolando B. Calabazaron encouraged local government units (LGUs) to adhere to the programs of the government on good governance by complying with the full disclosure policy as means of transparency. Calabazaron also said LGU programs should now focus on disaster preparedness programs. 
    Municipal local government operations officers (MLGOOs), provincial DILG officers led by Provincial Director Karl Ceasar R. Rimando and local government officials attended the summit.
