Hinunangan LGU receives Performance Challenge FundJune 14, 2012

SOUTHERN LEYTE, June 14 (PIA) -- The municipality of Hinunangan, in Southern Leyte received from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse M.Robredo the replica of the P1 million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) for being Seal of Good Housekeeping-compliant , Monday at the DPWH Multi-Purpose Hall, Government Center, Palo, Leyte.

DILG –Provincial Office Information Officer designate Loren Abrau-Aniciete disclosed that the municipality of Hinunangan led by Mayor Romeo Gomez, who received the award from Sec. Robredo has been recognized for its good performance in internal housekeeping particularly on the areas of Sound Fiscal Management, transparency and accountability and valuing Performance Management.

Moreover, the said municipality and all the other LGU-awardees are fully compliant to the department’s Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) and have achieved acceptable levels of findings from the Commission on Audit, Aniciete further said.

The SGH is an eligibility requirement to access the PCF which is an incentive fund to LGUs in the form of counterpart for projects to be financed from the 20% component of the LGU’s Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).

The awarding ceremony was held during the regional launching of the Seal of Disaster Preparedness at the Tapatan Roadshow on disaster Preparedness where Sec. Robredo led the signing of the pledge of commitment to Disaster Preparedness.

The DILG Secretary also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with 20 local government units who are recipients of the Sagana at Ligas na Tubig (SALINTUBIG) 2012 project, where the city of Maasin and the municipality of Limasawa, both from Southern Leyte are recipients, Aniciete informed further.(PIA8-Southern Leyte)
