Cavite LGUs receives Seal of Good HousekeepingMarch 17, 2012



seal of good house keeping1Cavite once again earned recognition for good governance when the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), through Secretary Jesse Robredo and Provincial Director Efren Echavia, awarded the Seal of Good Housekeeping to the province, its 19 municipalities and three cities in simple rites on February 10, 2012 at the provincial gymnasium in Trece Martires City.

The good housekeeping seal is given to LGUs that excelled in the areas of planning, budgeting, revenue, mobilization, financial management, budget execution, procurement and resource mobilization. It also recognizes local governments that accord primacy to the principles of transparency and accountability. Recipients of the award also received one million pesos each from the DILG’s Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

According to Gov. Remulla, the provincial government aimgov remulla and robredos to raise the standard and improve public service to achieve the projected target of becoming the top province in 2012.

Recently, in terms of local governance, Cavite ranked 8th placer among the top 10 high performing provinces in DILG’s Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS). Cavite was also hailed as one of theRegional Gawad Pamana ng Lahi 2011 Awardee – Provincial Category.


Exemplary performance information is drawn from the database of the on-line LGPMS, Seal of Good Housekeeping, International Organization or National Government Agency-bestowed awards and acknowledged innovations. The province received three million pesos cash incentive from the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

 “We intend to pursue our goal of becoming the number one top performing province in the Philippines and we are encouraging our fellow Cavitenos to support the advocacy. The award we received will serve as inspiration for us to aim higher to make Cavite, First Class, World Class. We are looking forward and working hard to become the first ISO certified province not just to achieve excellence but to instill the culture of excellence in public service”, the governor declared.
