DILG conducts Tapatan Roadshow in LagunaAugust 1, 2011

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) initiated the “Tapatan Roadshow on Full Disclosure Policy” held in the City Hall of Calamba, last July 26, 2011. The full disclosure policy requires LGUs to post their budget and finances on their websites, print media and conspicuous places in their respective areas of jurisdiction. This roadshow is aimed at enlisting the support and commitment of local chief executives to comply with the Department’s policy on full disclosure.

Leading the event was Calamba City Mayor Joaquin Chipeco and other local chief executives of Calabarzon. This was attended by more than 500 participants. Participants from the Provincial Planning Development Coordinating Office (PPDCO) were Mr. Valentin P. Guidote Jr. PPDC, his Asst. Mrs. Loida R. Lopez and staffs.

Secretary Jesse M. Robredo, DILG, conferred the Seal of Good Houskeeping (SGH) to 26 local government units in Region IV-A (CALABARZON). In these LGUs , three (3) municipalities and one (1) city in Laguna received the said award namely, the  municipalities of Magdalena, Liliw, Luisiana, and the city of Calamba. The respective mayors of the winning municipality/city will receive a P1-M Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) from DILG.

The PCF is a financial incentive given to qualified local government units to jumpstart local development projects that are aligned with the national programs for the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); tourism and local economic development; disaster risk reduction and management; and solid waste management.
