Central Luzon provinces complete projects through PCFApril 17, 2012

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, March 16 (PIA) -- Twelve more towns and cities in Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Zambales and Aurora have utilized their Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) for the completion of various infrastructure projects.

 Seven local government units in Nueva Ecija which were recipients of the PCF have completed of some of their vital projects through the fund.

 In Gen. Natividad, the amount was spent in the improvement of the Rural Health Units, the public market terminal, the municipal dumpsite and the construction of five shallow wells.

 The concreting of Sto. Domingo, Del Pilar, Mabini, Estacion, Tabilangan and Dela Torre streets in Nampicuan, were also completed with the use of the fund.

 In Penaranda town, the amount was allotted for the construction of a municipal dumpsite, establishment of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and the purchase of garbage collection equipment.

 The maintenance of roads and their drainage systems and the construction of the MRF building, meanwhile, were completed in Talugtog, while Llanera saw the completion of farm-to-market roads.

 The cities of Palayan and Munoz, also in Nueva Ecija, completed the construction of four Maternal Health Clinics and market stalls because of the PCF.

 In Samal, Bataan, the local government unit spent the amount for the regravelling of Sitio Saldana St., improvement of the drainage at Tabing-Ilog, the construction of two units of communal toilets and propagation of their Solid Waste Management program.

 Flood control projects which included the rehabilitation of the drainage system and the provision of the concrete cover of the drainage canal were the priorities of Balanga City for the use of the fund.

The lone recipient in Aurora is the town of Dinalungan where the construction of the Rural Health Unit Level II has just began.

In Zambales, the two Seal of Goodhousekeeeping awardees were San Felipe and San Narciso. The PCF of San Narciso was instrumental to the construction of commercial stalls at the municipal park while the purchase of a mini-dump truck, the rehabilitation of the MRF and the concreting of the farm-to market road were funded in San Felipe by the PCF.

The Department of Interior and Local Government awards P1-million PCF to local government units which received the Seal of Good Housekeeping. (WLB/RGSD-PIA3)
