Team to oversee local development projectsApril 12, 2012

IFUGAO Governor Eugene Balitang created the Performance Challenge Fund Project Implementation Team (PCFPIT) to fast-track the implementation of local development projects in the province.

The Provincial Government is an awardee of the Seal of Good Housekeeping for second round assessment of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and is entitled to the Performance Challenge Fund (PFC) subsidy amounting to P7 million.

Balitang said with the upcoming release of the PCF check, there’s a need to create the team to fast-track and properly implement the projects.

He said the fund will be primarily used to finance local development projects indicated in the 2012 annual investment program (AIP).

The PFCPIT is composed of Provincial Planning Coordinator Carmelita Buyuccan, as point person; and engineers Orlando Sarol and Jonathan Pahigon, Provincial Accountant Charles Baguilat and Rose Marie Lindawan as members.

“The team would submit all the required documents to the DILG for the release of the PCF subsidy and oversee the proper implementation of projects funded under the subsidy,” Balitang explained.

The team will also ensure the implementation of the projects will be within one year from the date of receipt of the PCF check and said fund will be used primarily for the specified purpose.

The governor said the PFCPIT should guarantee that all payments are disbursed following all government procedures of procurement and in accordance with government accounting policies and submit documents required by the DILG. (Marcelo B. Lihgawon)
