THE ALASAS to Del Rosario road in the City of San Fernando was made more accessible to the public following the completion of the upgrading and concreting project initiated by the local government.
This farm-to-market road project was realized through the utilization of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) given by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
City Local Government Operations Offi cer Engr. Jose Algy Canlas said PCF is an incentive fund awarded to qualifi ed LGUs to support the programs and projects that are consistent with the national goals and priorities.
“In 2014, the city received a total amount of P 3 Million for being a recipient of the DILG’s Seal of Good Local Governance in recognition to their outstanding performance,” Canlas added.
For his part, Mayor Edwin ‘EdSa’ Santiago said that the implementation of this program will further help the local government in the delivery of basic services to the grassroots.
“Our city continuously grows in terms of economic and development and we do not want our constituents in the rural areas to be left behind,” he added.
The Alasas to Del Rosario road serves as an interconnectivity road that benefits thousands of Fernandinos particularly residents of Barangays Alasas, Del Rosario, San Isidro and Magliman.
“Through the accessibility of this road, we can also attract our rural constituents to market their products in the local markets,” Mayor EdSa ended.
